The Kensington has been rated the #1 property nationwide in the annual “Elite 1% List,” the pinnacle of the J Turner ORA™ Power Ranking. The eco-conscious apartment community in downtown Boston has now held the top spot since 2015. In a dinner at the Boston restaurant Moo on February 5, Joseph Turner, founder of J. Turner, presented the award to Toby Bozzuto, Julie Smith, and Stephanie Williams, the leadership team of Bozzuto, the Kensington’s management company.
The year-end resident satisfaction rankings monitor the online reputation of more than 14 million doors at 71,000 properties. From these results, J Turner employs a proprietary model to establish a score on a scale of 1-100, and annually honors 50 properties representing the “Elite 1%.” Fewer than 1,000 of 71,000 ranked properties achieve this ranking, which requires a minimum ORA™ score of 88 and recognize only properties which have more than 15 online reviews across multiple review sites. For any properties with the same ORA™, highest placement is determined by the higher number of reviews.
The 2017 Elite 1% list was even more competitive than previous years. There were 546 new entrants to the Elite club this year and the minimum score to qualify rose to 88 from 86. The Kensington’s ORA™ score of 98 is up from its previous high score of 96 in 2016, a feat matched by only 3 other properties, all of which the Kensington exceeded in online reviews. With the national average ORA score remaining at 57.5 for a second year, it is clear just how special the Kensington is.
