Boston Business Journal (BBJ) has named Grand Circle one of the Top Corporate Charitable Contributors in Massachusetts for 2017. Grand Circle ranked in the Top 20 of 94 companies honored at the journal’s 12th Annual Corporate Citizenship Summit at Fenway Park on September 7. “This year’s Corporate Charitable Contributors list is the largest the Boston Business Journal has ever assembled. We are incredibly proud of the companies that qualified for the list. They are all outstanding examples of the impact and importance of giving back,” said Market President and Publisher Carolyn Jones.
This is the 11th year in a row that Grand Circle has been recognized for being a top contributor who has donated $100,000 or more to local nonprofits. Grand Circle’s cash and in-kind contributions in Massachusetts for 2016 total more than 3.5 million dollars. Including donations beyond Massachusetts, cash contributions totaled nearly 4.7 million.
Grand Circle’s local efforts involve not only monetary contributions but community service: 540 Associates offered over 3,000 hours of service. As Juma K. Crawford, Executive Director of Grand Circle Foundation, notes, “Every company engaged in real philanthropy always starts at the top, and Grand Circle is no exception. Over decades of philanthropic leadership, Alan and Harriet Lewis have encouraged and supported thousands of associates to serve our city.” Grand Circle looks forward to continuing its efforts together to make Boston a city of opportunity for all.
