
Sara joined KIC in May 2005 and became Manager of Legal Affairs in October 2007. In this role she provides all in-house paralegalservices and manages all administrative matters of the company's Legal Department.
Prior to joining KIC, Sarah was a Corporate Paralegal at Welch's, the manufacturing and marketing division of the National Grape Cooperative Association, Inc. While there she supported the Vice President and General Counsel along with two additional attorneys. Prior to Welch's she held the role of Employment Paralegal at Getronics (formerly WangGlobal), an ICT solutions and services provider.
Sara began her legal career at Arnold & Kangas, P.C., a full-service law firm.
Sara served on the Board of Advisors of the Boston Young Professionals Association from 2003 - 2007.
Sara is a current member of the Massachusetts Paralegal Association.
Sara graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a B.A. in Legal Studies, with a minor in Sociology and certificates in Criminal Justice and Multi-Cultural Conflict Resolution. She was also selected to participate in the first Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) internship program.
She most recently earned a certificate from Northeastern University, School of Professional and Continuing Studies in Meeting and Event Management.
Ms. Bistany joined Kensington Investments Company in April 2004.
As Property Manager of KIC's 28 Exeter at Newbury property, she is responsible for all day-to-day management and leasing, as well as overseeing the $3.5M worth of construction projects taking place over the next three years.
Prior to joining KIC, she worked in property management and assisted the leasing departments for The Beacon Companies. While there she managed existing and potential residents, as well as assisted with a new construction lease-up.
Ms. Bistany graduated in 2000 from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts.
As Construction Supervisor for KIC, Mr. Heeran oversees all residential renovations and commercial space build-outs.
He originally joined KIC in 1997 as Maintenance Supervisor.
Prior to KIC, Mr. Heeran was at Shuman Building Corp. of Natick, MA, where he supervised retail and office space build-outs throughout the Boston area and where he obtained his Construction Supervisors license.
Prior to Shuman, he was part of McDevitt Realty and Construction of Brighton, MA where he specialized in residential additions, maintenance, and renovations.
Mr. Heeran is a native of Ireland, having immigrated to the U.S. in 1985.
Mr. Lewis is the principal owner of KIC and is an experienced real estate investor and developer, with extensive holdings in the Greater Boston area. He is also a seasoned management executive with strong skills in sales and marketing.
Mr. Lewis is also Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Grand Circle Corporation (GCC), a direct marketing travel company.
The Lewis Family acquired Grand Circle Travel in 1985, and under Mr. Lewis' leadership, GCC's revenues have increased from $27M in 1986 to more than $700M as of 2006.
Prior to founding KIC and GCC, Mr. Lewis founded Trans National Travel in 1974.
Trans National Group Services, Inc., the holding company operating TN Travel, TN Insurance and TN Financial Services, was generating sales of $60M and had operations in 30 countries at the time Lewis sold his interest.
Mr. Lewis was named "Direct Marketer of the Year" in 1985 by the New England Direct Marketing Association.
He is a member of the White House Conference on Travel & Tourism Task Force, the Young Presidents' Organization, Inc., the Direct Marketing Association, the Association of Travel Marketing Executives, and the New England Direct Marketing Association.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Neurofibromatosis, Inc., the Thompson Island Outward Bound School's Advisory Board, and Synergy Associates.
Mr. Lewis joined the Real Estate practice of Kensington Investment Company in 2004, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2007.
Mr. Lewis is responsible for the development and acquisition of many of the firm's real estate projects including Ashford Land Company (planned residential property on the Main Line in Philadelphia), KP Residences in the Chinatown section of Boston, and various residential and commercial properties in Boston's Back Bay.
Mr. Lewis graduated from University of Vermont in 2004.
Mr. O'Brien joined GCC in February 1995 after serving as Chairman of Boston-based General Investment & Development (GID).
He joined GID in 1967 as an Apartment Manager for a 682-unit garden apartment complex and remained at the firm for 27 years, becoming President and COO in 1976, CEO in 1981, and Chairman in 1989.
When he retired from GID in 1993, the firm's portfolio consisted of 12,000 rental units in 13 states, 2,000,000 feet of office and industrial space, a Houston-based oil and gas company, and diversified financial investments.
Mr. O'Brien served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board from 1980 through 1986.
He also served as President of the Rental Housing Association of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board from 1981- 1982.
Mr. O'Brien graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York in 1959 with a B.S. in Engineering.
He served in the U.S. Army Infantry, resigning as a Captain in October, 1965.
During his time in the Army he held various troop leadership positions and was an Advisor to a RVN Infantry Battalion in 1964 and 1965.
Mr. O'Brien is also a graduate of Airborne and Ranger schools.
Mr.Therrien joined Kensington in 1988 as a Financial Analyst.
In 1989, Mr. Therrien assumed responsibility for managing the Company’s assets, including day-to-day operations of its real estate holdings of over 500,000 square feet of office, retail and residential investment real estate valued at $175,000,000.
He is responsible for all commercial leasing and lease negotiations, capital improvement projects, operating performance and service excellence, and has completed over $60,000,000 in loan transactions related to the real estate portfolio
Mr. Therrien is responsible for identifying projects which will enhance Kensington’s existing development sites and opportunities which will allow Kensington to add value through its vision and strong management company.
Since 2007, Mr.Therrien has orchestrated the acquisition of real estate assets valued at over $24,000,000, taking the initial presentation through return analysis, due diligence and closing. He has managed redevelopment projects in excess of $22,000,000 during his tenure.
Prior to Kensington, Mr. Therrien began his career at Coopers & Lybrand in Boston and later joined Claremont Real Estate, a Boston-based development company with over one million square feet in real estate assets nationwide.
Mr. Therrien graduated from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management in 1982.
